Fallout 4 VR resolution fix is now in steam beta.
The Fallout 4 VR release has not gone smooth, with many complaining of blurriness/low resolution. This is due to a bug that linked the game resolution to your desktop resolution. Many fixes have floated around mostly relying on you to upscale your desktop resolution. However, Bethesda have acted very quickly and released a beta fix.
The instructions are fairly straight forward:
- Log into Steam.
- Right Click on Fallout 4 VR in your Library.
- Select Properties.
- Select Betas.
- A drop down menu will appear. Select Fallout 4 VR Update 220.127.116.11
- Select OK.
- Wait for the game to update.
- When done, Fallout 4 VR Update 18.104.22.168 should appear in your Library
Bethesda have also raised the supersampling from 1.0(standard) to 1.4. This can be changed in Fallout4Custom.ini located at “My Games/Fallout4VR” by adding the following lines:
— fRenderTargetSizeMultiplier=< your value >
I have been told that 1.5 is the sweet spot for many people but, due to a issue with Amazon I have been unable to test.
