Pete Hawley is now the new Telltale Games CEO
On Monday, Telltale Games will have a new CEO. VentureBeat reports that the episodic game developer will bring on Pete Hawley as the new leader.
Hawley comes from Zynda, a mobile app developer, where he served as VP and general manager for the past three years. Additionally, he’s worked for EA, Sony, and Lionhead.
Telltale co-founder, Dan Connors, will be ending his place as CEO. Connors was the original CEO who stepped down in 2015. After the latest CEO Kevin Bruner resigned, Connors filled the role.
That position was always meant to be temporary and Connors will remain on the board of directors to assist Hawley.
Chairman of the board, John Riccitiello, had this to say about Hawley:
“When I sat down with Pete, I said, ‘Shit. This is the guy,'” Riccitiello told VentureBeat. “He blew me away. Telltale is one of those places where you would like to have a content creator as CEO, and Pete has that experience. Kevin and Dan invented a new medium with episodic narrative gaming. Pete has a strong vision for where the industry is going. He is a hands-on, driven guy who will execute and get us to where we want to be.”
