CD Projekt Red valued at over $2 billion, even with revenue loss in 2017
CD Projekt Red released their financial results for Q1 and Q2 of 2017. The report shows a dip in both revenues and in profits.
For the period ending on June 30, the studio experience around $71 million in total revenue, and around $40 million post-tax.
That’s around $5 million less in profits than the first half of 2016. During that time, the studio has around $90 million in total revenue and $46 million in profits.
Despite that, the company has nearly doubled in value over last year. According to Gamasutra, CD Projekt Red passed $1 billion last August, with their current value sitting roughly at $2.3 billion.
CD Projekt Red says most of that comes from the continued sales of The Witcher 3, as well as both expansions.
Additionally, the release of Gwent as an esports title looks to increase the value of CD Projekt Red has time moves forward.
Even though the company has lost revenue, it appears their value will continue to rise as time goes on.
