Over 5,000 titles released on Steam this year, the most ever
Steam is still growing. Analyst Daniel Ahmad of Niko Partners projects that this will be the most fruitful year for game releases on Steam. So far, this year has already passed up 205, the previous largest year.
Steam Direct is probably the cause of this. The straight-to-market platform replaced Steam Greenlight, and around 1,300 titles have popped up since the June launch.

Unsurprisingly, a chunk of these titles are from Steam Direct, Indie titles that may or may not hold merit. It can be difficult to wade through all of that.
Contrastly, some great titles may now show up on Steam that otherwise wouldn’t have made it through Steam Greenlight.
