Here are the details on the Steam UI update
Last week, images were leaked of a Valve presentation at Indigo 2017. The slides showed a major overhaul of the Steam client, complete with a full user interface upgrade. Now, the full video of the presentation has surfaced on YouTube.
In addition, Value aims to make discoverability better too. They have rewritten their “automatic recommender engine”. With it, the new system will put emphasis on Curator recommendations, the type of games the user owns and plays, and the games the user’s friends play.
Speaking of the Curator system, Valve has improvements there too. Developers will be able to send keys directly to Curators through Steam. No more keys. This means gray market keys will go down and those who scam keys out of Indie developers won’t have the chance to.
The new UI will have a library home screen that looks similar to Steam Big Picture mode. In addition, the page will show recent game updates, what your friends are playing, and new events.
