EVE Online developer gets sent $38 worth of dicks
EVE Online developer, CCP Games, got a funny package in the mail: a bag of edible dicks. No, this isn’t a joke. Thanks to recent balance changes, hardcore members of the community have expressed their concern. Needless to say, one person went too far.
Brenton Hooper posted in the EVE subreddit:
“Here in Iceland, we pay tax on anything that gets imported,” he writes. “When it comes into the country, Customs will check for an invoice and then you have to pay them to get your stuffs (or just ask them to throw it away). If they can’t find an invoice, you get a letter in the mail asking for one. There are some exceptions to needing an invoice (gifts for example) but you can only get away with that if it’s near your birthday. You can authorize Customs to open up the package to find out what it is.”
Of course, when a mysterious package showed up with an invoice, Hooper had questions. The official description reads, “he shipment contains: Two candy gummy bags in the shape of penises, glitter, penis shaped confetti and a coupon that says ‘Eat a bag of dicks.'”
The person in question spoke up on the same subreddit thread, saying that, “it was definitely worth it.”
I wish I could say this is the first CCP has run into this problem, but that’s not the case:
