Rocket League Anniversary Update Brings a New Arena, Cars, and More
Rocket League Anniversary update will be arriving on July 7th to celebrate two years since the game’s release. The update brings the new “Champions Field” arena, two new cars, tweakable engine noises, and a lot of other goodies completely free of charge.
Starting off with the arena, “Champions Field” is standard layout arena that will be available in Competitive, Casual, and Private matches. The look of the arena is truly representative of the “Champion” title. It’s a no-frills arena that looks streamlined and modern while maintaining a traditional Rocket League feel.
The two new Battle-Cars included in the update are the Animus GP and Centio V17. However, there is a trade-off. These vehicles can only be unlocked through Overdrive Crates dropped at the end of Online matches for a limited time. You have the chance of gaining one of these new cars or grabbing an assortment of new wheels, decals, or Black Market items.
However, the update doesn’t stop there. Psyonix is rolling out Engine Audio and Goal Explosions to the player customization options. You will be able to gain different explosions and audio through random drops and customize them like you would your Battle-Car.
Of course, all of this comes with new music (18 tracks from Monstercat) as well as a slew of new achievements to keep completionists on their toes.
July 7 marks the date for the release of the update as well as the beginning of competitive Season 5, so make sure you’re prepared.
