No Trace is Hotline Miami in Stealth Mode
No Trace is a top-down stealth-action game that mashes up two genres in a way that looks truly unique. Square Mountain, the developer of the game, released a gameplay trailer that shows off the stealth-action nature of the game, set on a beautifully atmospheric backdrop (above).
The uniqueness of the game is shown off with Inspection mode. This allows you to stop time and scan your environment to plan how you’re going to attack. While the top-down view feels like Hotline, this tactical approach blends elements of games like Doorkickers in, bringing the experience to a new level.
While tactics are important, No Trace doesn’t appear to be purely methodical. The above trailer features a few intense action sequences and Square Mountain promises that this will be a lot fo the gameplay when the game comes out.
They also have promised that the game will be highly replayable. Randomly generated NPC profiles are the cause here, giving a dynamic experience on each playthrough.
While no official release date has been set, Square Mountain is working on No Trace full time and plans to release the game Q2 2018. You can see more about the game on Square Mountain’s website.
