MSI Shows the World’s First Ryzen Equipped Laptop
MSI continues to push out new products at Computex, this time showing off the world’s first Ryzen equipped laptop. The ROG Strix GL702ZC will come in multiple configurations, with a compact-sized RX GPU.
The RX580 inside will drive either a 1080 or 4K IPS display, with a refresh rate of 75Hz and 100Hz respectively. Of course, both displays are also Freesync enabled.
More configuration comes into play with the Ryzen CPU. The GL-702ZC can be outfitted with an 8-core Ryzen 7 1700, a 6-core Ryzen 5 1600, or the upcoming 4-core Ryzen 3 1200. Inside the small chassis, overclocking will not be available.
Additionally, the laptop can be outfitted with up to 32GB of memory, a 512GB NVMe SSD, and an additional hard drive. Connection seems to be future compatible with three USB Type-A ports, and one USB-C port.
ROG continues with a sleek design, the laptop weighing just under 7 pounds and coming in at 1.3 inches thick, impressive considering the hardware inside.
Pricing and availability information on the GL-702ZC will be announced this Summer.
