New Intel Core X-Series Processors Provide First 18 Core Consumer CPU
Intel unveiled their latest Core X-Series processors at Computex 2017. The new line of processors will be on x299 chipset and will be manufactured for a brand new socket – socket LGA 2066.
Of the range, Intel for the first time has introduced the Core i9 to the family of Core processors. The new X-Series i9 Extreme Edition pushes the boundaries of consumer processors with 18 core/32 thread count at the high end of the range.
Considering the RCP of the processor is $1,999, it good that Intel unveiled a few other SKUs as well. Check out a full breakdown of them below.
It seems Intel is reloading after the release of Ryzen and the upcoming news of Threadripper from AMD. Regardless, it’s clear that Intel’s enthusiast range of processors will continue to push the envelope.
