Micron Adds Their Spin with Ballistix RGB DDR4 Memory
Computex 2017 has brought a lot in innovation, but sometimes it’s just nice to sit back and look at the lights. Micron has shown off their Ballistix Tactical Tracer DDR4 RGB memory, outfitted with multi-color LEDs.
“It’s all about customization and personalization for gamers and the Ballistix Tracer series continues to make that possible with new DDR4 RGB products,” explained Jeremy Mortenson, product marketing manager, Ballistix. “We’re committed to empowering gamers with affordable, customizable products that help them achieve the speed and performance they need, while also satisfying their aesthetic preferences. We’ll even supply design files for those who want to make some customizations to the top bar.”
While it’s noted that speeds will start at 2666MHz, Micron hasn’t confirmed the speeds in which the memory will ship.
The memory will be controlled via Ballistix M.O.D. (Memory Overview Display). The software will allow to manipulate the RGB lighting in real time as well as monitor temperatures of the RAM sticks.
The sticks will also be compatible with third-party motherboard software like ASUS Aura, MSI Mystic Light, and Gigabyte AORUS.
While no confirmed release date is set, we know the memory will be available in Q3 2017.
