MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Lightning Z Shown off at Computex 2017
MSI showed off their latest top-end GPU, the GTX 1080 Ti Lightning Z. Like previous Lightning Z designs from MSI, the card will feature a tri-fan design with three modes: Silent Mode, Gaming Mode, and Lightning Mode.
With the factory overclock the speeds for each of the modes are:
- Silent Mode: 1480/1582MHz
- Gaming Mode: 1582/1695MHz
- Lightning Mode: 1607/1721MHz
Of course, 11GB of GDDR5X Memory is on the GPU as per the reference design. However both Gaming and Lightning modes on the card crank stock 11Ghz frequency up to 11.2Ghz.
MSI hasn’t said much yet in the way of thermal improvements over the reference design, but I’d imagine the card will fare pretty well if it’s anything like previous Lightning Z cards.
