Far Cry 5 Gets a Trailer and Some Backstory
Ubisoft has officially released details on Far Cry 5 regarding the release date of the game. After countless rumors, Far Cry 5 has been confirmed to be set in Hope County, Montana. This latest trailer (that can be seen above) shows off the religious cult that has taken over Hope County and gives the game an official release date.
Far Cry 5 will be released February 27, 2018.
In addition to the announcement trailer, Ubisoft also released ally profiles that will aid you during your time in Hope County.
The first of these is Mary May, a bartender who was born and raised in Hope County. After her father trusted the violent cult, they murdered him and captured her mother and brother. However her work as the barkeep at “The Spread Eagle” hasn’t been in vain – she’s been mixing molotov cocktails.
Next is Pastor Jerome Jeffries, who speaks of the poison of the leader of the religious cult. While guided religiously, we can clearly see that Jerome has cut a spot in his Bible for a revolver in order to “become the wolf”.
Nick Rye is a pilot from a military family in Hope County. Scared for his boy’s future, Nick sets off to fight the religious cult in the same vain as his father before him – in all-out war.
