UK Store Game Launches GAME Elite “Loyalty” Scheme
GAME, UK’s biggest high street video store has today launched a rather controversial loyalty scheme called GAME Elite. You, the customer, pays GAME £36, and in exchange, you get a small increase in loyalty points when you buy stuff from the store.
- 10% points back on physical games and accessories
- 4% points back on consoles, phones and tablets
- 2% on trade-ins
Keep your pantaloons on though, because there is a launch sale that knocks a shocking £3 off the regular price
NeoGaf user Savantcore pointed out earlier “You’d save more than £36 a year if you just shopped elsewhere”
GAME has been hit and miss over the past couple of years. Back in 2012, the company actually went into administration only to be bailed out at the last minute. Is the game store a dying breed? Are we all just going to plummet for Amazon and digital downloads from Steam in the near future? Let us know below
