Gears Of War 4 Update Adds New Content and Multi GPU Support
Continuing players Gears of War 4 will be pleased to know that May plans to be a pretty amazing month for updates to the hit franchise.
The developers announced that the update which is scheduled for release today will include new maps and SLI support for Windows 10 players.
The game released in October 2017 to high praise for its top notch PC port, but PC gamers were demanding that Microsoft adds multiple GPU support. Finally, they have given in to the huge demand!
Microsoft said that people who can take advantage of multiple GPUs will see an increased rendering performance by up to 80%. Of course, Microsoft also recommends players also update their Windows 10 install to the Creator’s Update that supposedly contains fixes for DirectX12 that will further improve SLI performance.
Anyway, onto the actual gameplay additions; the May update will also include two brand new maps for Gears of War 4. One of the maps named “Dawn” is an original map created by The Coalition, whilst the other map is a throwback to a similar style map from Gears of War 2, being named Security.
“The Dawn Map combines tight corridors of combat with open spaces – learn to use the right weapon for the right situations on this map and you’ll truly become a master of Dawn,” Microsoft revealed
On top of the SLI support and new maps, the update will also give players the chance to bring Benjamin Carmine back from the dead as a zombie, no less.
The update is available to PC players today.
