One of the biggest PC centralized media outlets, Rock, Paper, Shotgun has today announced they have been acquired by Gamer Network. GamerNetwork who also work with Eurogamer, VG247 ModDB and GamesIndustry are a huge network and have worked with Rock, Paper, Shotgun in advertisement partnerships in the past.
Rock Paper, Shotgun editor, Graham Smith said this
“Becoming a part of the same network as Eurogamer, ModDB, GamesIndustry.biz, and VG247 means that we’ll benefit from the company’s larger resources,”
Gamer Network founder and CEO Ruper Loman explained the thought process behind the deal too
“We have worked successfully together with Rock, Paper, Shotgun for the past seven years and we’re delighted to extend our partnership in the best way possible. They have a brilliant community and we share a common editorial ethos, so it is great that we are now able to bring them closer to the Gamer Network family. We are looking forward to giving the team the support and resources to expand the site, and to help continue the fantastic RPS success story.”
I for one believe this is great news for the industry and cannot wait to see what else comes from this partnership in the future.
